On September 5 Ambassador Ralf Breth handed over his letter of accreditation to President Lieut. Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama. The ambassador, who was accompanied by deputy head of mission, Mrs. Katja Nolte, was received by the President in his office in Central Gaborone. After the ceremony the Ambassador is now fully installed in his function.

President Khama showed keen interest in the current political development in Germany on the eve of national parliamentary elections and on the mechanisms to form a new government.

The President expanded on his government´s plan to strengthen the vocational training for young people in order to create more chances for employment.

Another important issue discussed was the conservation of nature and wildlife and the impact for a sustainable tourism.

The President and the Ambassador agreed that the Botswanan-German relations are cordial and manifold.
